December Favourites

What's on my face #4

So Christmas is officially over and life is slowly but surely going back to normal. None of the items in this look are Christmas presents but some of them are new!

NYX Love in Paris Review

Merry Christmas everyone! As I'm in Germany, I got my presents yesterday and my sister got me this really pretty palette by NYX! It's the Love in Paris palette in the shade 03 Be our guest Maurice and the colours are perfect for me, they're mainly purples but there's some grey and bronze shades in there too.

Ski Trip Skincare Add-ons

During the winter, your skin needs that extra bit of TLC so it doesn't dry out too much, but when you're out in the cold skiing all day, some extra products are needed!

Early Christmas present and depotting MAC eyeshadows

If you read my blog regularly then you've probably heard of (and hopefully followed) my friend Emma from Cheekysmiles101- well yesterday, she gave me my Christmas present early, as we won't be in the same country for Christmas, and it was a large MAC palette!

Drugstore Product Recreation of Beautycrush's Rihanna Look

Last assignment handed in and I'm back with a makeup look! I saw this Rihanna inspired look by one of my favourite you tubers Sammi (BeautyCrush) and I recreated it the same day! Obviously I don't have the same products as she does so I thought it would be great to recreate it with drugstore products for those of us who can't afford to buy a Naked palette *cries a little*.

New blogging schedule

Hey everyone! I'm really sorry about the lack of posts in the past few days, I've been really busy with uni work and show choir performances and every time I get home there's just no light to take pictures!! I feel like I may have been a bit ambitious when I started posting every day, it worked well in the beginning but now I have deadlines followed by a ski trip, followed by Christmas, followed by lots of exams... I just don't think it's feasible to post every day because as much as I love blogging, my degree needs to be my priority. So I have decided that instead of posting every day I will from now on post every other day because it's not a massive change for people who read my blog but it's half the work for me so I have more time revising things like homoscedasticity and GABA receptors (don't worry, I'm not sure what they are either).
I hope you don't mind this little change and hopefully I'll be able to blog regularly again from now on!

Trish McEvoy Wishlist

As I mentioned in my previous post, Emma and I went on a little adventure through London after the Kiehl's event and we ended up going to Liberty, a very posh department store. We got there about ten minutes before closing time and we obviously headed straight for the beauty hall, where we were drawn in by the Trish McEvoy display.

Kiehl's Meet Up with Vivianna does Makeup and Lily Pebbles

I'm writing this at 1am in the morning after just having come back from the most amazing evening ever- I got to meet Anna and Lily, my two favourite bloggers, and I just had a generally incredible evening. Pictures say more than a thousand words so have a look at these...

What's on my face #3- Meeting Anna and Lily Pebbles!

I am so so so excited to meet Anna and Lily in a few hours and I can't wait to get on that train but before I do, I thought I'd share my makeup look with you! I'm wearing quite a casual outfit so I wanted to put a little bit more effort into my makeup- it's not every day that you meet your makeup gurus!

Kiehl's Brand Review

Today I'm going to London to see Anna from Vivianna does Makeup and Lily Pebbles at an event at Kiehl's- I am beyond excited so I thought it would only be fitting to share my thoughts about Kiehl's with you today!

Embracing the orange

As you can see, I have recently dyed the ends of my hair orange (post about it here) and my makeup has been mainly inspired by my hair since then. I obviously can't go too crazy with my makeup because my hair is already crazy enough but I thought that I can subtly get the orange into my makeup look as well!

November Favourites

This month I've had quite a few favourites, some of which are rediscoveries and some are new... So let's get started, shall we?

Catrice Arts Collection Limited Edition Palette

A few days ago I received a parcel from home with all sorts of Christmas goodies, which also included this palette which my sister kindly got for me. She sent me a snapchat of this a while ago and the packaging looked so pretty I just HAD to have it! Thankfully my sister is a lovely person so she got it for me and I was very excited to finally get it. The packaging is cardboard with a magnetic closure but it seems really quite sturdy and obviously it looks beautiful. Inside you get six eyeshadows, a blush, a highlighter and a black eyeliner. You also get a brush/applicator thing but I never use those anyway so it's just a waste of space really. In the picture above I'm wearing the lighter purple shade all over my lid with a bit of the darker purple through the crease and the outer V. I'm also wearing the blush and the highlighter but I applied them very lightly for a natural flush so they don't really show up in the picture.

Here are some swatches for the eyeshadows, there's two matte shades and four shimmery ones. The two lightest shimmery shades don't show up in the swatches very well but would look lovely as a highlight or a simple wash of colour to highlight your eyes on a lazy day. My favourite shades are the purples and the last shade which is sort of a shimmery taupe. I think that together they would make a really lovely smokey eye! Now for the quality of the eyeshadows, I wasn't overly impressed with the pigmentation of most of them but for the price it's definitely fine. However I found them very hard to blend, even with the help of my trusty Mac 217.
The blush and the highlighter are quite subtle but pretty and very pink toned. There's quite a lot of shimmer running through the blush so I don't think you even need to use a highlighter with it but the highlighter shade on it's own is very pretty, pink toned and with a fine shimmer. Last but not least, the eyeliner is one of the things that stood out to me the most in this palette as it's really pigmented and has a great creamy but not too creamy consistency (am I making any sense here?). It has some shimmer particles in it but they're very subtle and you can't really see them when you wear it.

Overall I think this palette is great value for money and I absolutely love the colours and the packaging, I just wish they were a liiiittle creamier and easier to blend.

What's on my nails #3- The Poundland Bargain

Yesterday I spent my day shopping for Christmas presents and on my way home I walked past Poundland so I decided to see what they have on offer in the beauty department at the moment. Poundland have great brand offers sometimes, I've got a Sally Hansen and an OPI nail polish which I got for £1! So today I was really happy when I saw that they had loads of Revlon nail polishes in pretty glittery colours. I chose this purple shade which is so lovely and shimmery and perfect for the holiday season.

Bleach London Tangerine Dream Hair Colour

I've been thinking about dying my hair a crazy colour again for a while, especially now that it's quite light at the ends so when I saw these new fun hair colours from Bleach London I was sold!

Hit the pan #3

What is it with me and powders recently? I think I've mentioned that I don't like the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder before but I decided to put aside our differences and give it another chance- mainly because my Soap and Glory powder is currently living in my handbag since it's great for touch ups.

Sleek Pout Polish Review

I've been wanting to try the Sleek Pout Polishes for ages and when I was at Superdrug last week picking up two things for a Christmas present I just had to get one, as it was 3 for 2 on all cosmetics so I essentially got it for free.

Before the Performance- The Routine

Today I have a pole fitness Winter Showcase which I am dancing a solo in. I'm very very nervous and slightly shaking as I write this but I wanted to share with you what I do beauty wise before the performance.

Hey guys! Today is my first outfit post ever, I'm really sorry about the quality of the photos, until I've got my tripod this will have to be my set up :( It was really cold today and I wanted to wear something comfortable but still look nice so I went for shoes with a slight heel.

Three minutes, three products eye look

Sometimes you just don't have time for an elaborate eye look but you still want to do a little more than mascara- I've been wearing this look quite a lot because I like the wide eyed look it gives. I only use three products for this- an eyeliner (I use the Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bronze which is a lovely shimmery bronze colour), a white eyeliner and a mascara. All I do is line my upper and lower lash line with the eyeliner, use the white eyeliner in my waterline to really open up the eyes and then use lots and lots of mascara on the top and bottom lashes- it's really simple yet effective.

What do you think of this look?

What's on my nails #2

So for the past two weeks I've not been wearing nail polish in order to give my poor brittle nails a bit of a break and let them regain their strength...

What's on my face #2- Lorde inspired

This morning when I was preparing to get ready I went on spotify to put on some music. I've been slightly obsessed with Royals by Lorde recently so I thought I'd put on some music by her and when I saw the cover photo on spotify I immediately decided to recreate the look she was wearing. It's quite simple with a very straight winged out eyeliner and a bright purple lip. Probably more of an evening look for most people but I love wearing bold lips during the day too!

The Fancy Dress #1

If you read the post about my Halloween Costume you may know that I am absolutely obsessed with fancy dress. Here in the UK we love our fancy dress parties so I get the chance to dress up a lot, which has led to me owning quite an extensive fancy dress collection! I like to go all out for themed parties, you will never see me put on some cat ears and drawing on whiskers, I put some serious effort into my outfits. However I do try to keep it cheap since I can't splurge on new costumes all the time, so I thought I'd do a series on fancy dress and maybe inspire some of you!

Hit the pan #2

I've recently hit pan on the pink side of my Kick Ass Concealer by Soap and Glory, which has become my go to concealer! It seems quite expensive at £10 but you get a pinky coloured concealer for under eye circles, a yellow toned concealer for regular concealing AND a powder to set the concealer with!

What's on my face #1

Today is my first "What's on my face" post! I absolutely love reading these so I thought I'd start the series myself- so here's what I'm wearing today:
