January Favourites

It's that time of the month again- January Favourites!
I had exams at the beginning of January so I didn't wear much makeup, therefore most of these became favourites during the second half of the month and some are new purchases.

This lip balm has very quickly become my all time favourite. It's really thick and moisturising and stays on the lips for ages. If you don't like the feeling of a thick balm then you won't like this but I love it and it works really well for me and has made such a difference to the appearance of my very dry lips.

I got this eyebrow pencil quite recently but I had been looking for it for months and it's definitely worth the wait. The colour (I use mid brown) is perfect for me and the wind up pencil is easy to use with no need to sharpen. It looks a little bit like the Anastasia Brow Wiz in my opinion (although I don't own it so I can't directly compare the two) and the formula is really pigmented and long lasting. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a spooly on the other side, so if they replaced the highlighter with a spooly this would be the perfect eyebrow pencil!

I got this from Emma at the end of summer because she went through all her makeup and threw a lot of stuff out (which I then graciously took off her hands) and this was one of the products she didn't like, because it was a tad too dark for her despite being the lightest shade and because it apparently made her face look like an oil slick. It just goes to show how different products work for different people because we have a very similar skin type but I absolutely love this foundation. It keeps my oiliness at bay, although I still need to have some powder touch ups during the day, and the colour is perfect for me now that I've completely lost my tan. It's really easy to blend (I use a Real Techniques Buffing Brush) and I'd say it's a light to medium coverage so it's perfect for every day use.

I've recently been getting back into wearing eyeliner and the Maybelline Gel Liner is definitely my favourite because it's really easy to apply and it just does not budge, even on my extremely oily eyelids. I use it with the Real Techniques Liner Brush which I like a lot, but it's quite a pain to have to clean it after every use because it gets all hard and dried up otherwise. I'm currently trying to get my hands on the Silicone Liner Brush so I don't have that problem anymore!

I only bought this a week ago but I've used it every single day since so I just had to mention it in my favourites. I really love the tousled 'I just got out of bed' hair look and when Amelia Liana mentioned this as a dupe for the ridiculously expensive Oribe Texturising Spray, I immediately went out to get it. It makes my hair really gritty while giving lots of volume and I love the effect it gives with both curly and straight hair- a complete winner in my book.

H&M Spiked Necklace
I talked about this necklace in my Three Favourite Statement Necklaces post but I just had to mention it again because it has been my go-to statement piece when I wanted to make an outfit look more dressed up. I love the shade of silver and the edginess of the spikes and I wear this with everything, from jeans and a plain white tshirt to a pretty dress.
