The little blue box

There's something about that little blue box that just makes every girl's heart beat a little bit faster... Tiffany jewellery is just something so incredibly special, so I was absolutely ecstatic to receive a ring from my parents as a graduation present!

Styling a bookshelf for beginners

Styling a bookshelf seems like a ridiculous thing to do that is only worth it in show homes, but it's becoming an increasingly popular thing to do. I personally love the look of a beautifully styled bookshelf because I think it adds so much to a room. Obviously there are tons of ways to style your bookcase and in the end it's always down to personal preference, but here are some of my tips.

Asda MEATup

A while ago, Talented Talkers contacted me asking if I wanted to attend a BBQ hosted by Asda on National Burger day. Despite not liking burgers (please don't shoot me) I obviously said yes, because food. The exciting part was that the event would take place in a secret location, which I found extremely intriguing!

Leave Your Mark- Book Review

A few weeks ago I decided to order a few books, namely books written by career women, because I felt like I needed a little nudge in the right direction. I picked up 'Leave your mark' by Aliza Licht because it was recommended on a website and I can tell you know that it was £8 well spent!

New business cards from Vistaprint

Business cards are a funny thing to have as a small blogger because odds are you'll only give out about one a year. However it's a fact that the one time you don't have them with you, at least three people will ask for one, so I've made a habit of carrying them around with me.

Paris meets Nashville

A few weeks ago I headed up to London for the Blogger's Market and to finally meet Jaye, who I've been talking to for ages now! We had a great time at the market and then went for lunch with Natasha, but obviously had to stop for some outfit photos first... We found a lovely little street and Jaye very kindly agreed to take some awkward outfit snaps for me, so here they are!

The Apartment Diaries- When it all went wrong

You may have been wondering why I haven't been posting much recently (or you may not care but I'll tell you why anyway)... Basically, it has been raining in my flat. Yep, you read that right. It has been raining inside my flat.

Treat Yo Self

The other day I found out that I had gotten a scholarship for my master's degree, so naturally I had to go out and treat myself to something nice! I've been wanting to go to Boux Avenue for a while so I decided to finally go in and get a bra fitting and treat myself to something nice!

My Happy Planner

Oh planners... I used to laugh at people decorating their planners because it just seemed so silly, but then I got a filofax and recently I changed over to a Happy Planner, because I wanted more space to track different things. The Happy Planner is very similar to the popular Erin Condren Life Planner, but it's a lot cheaper, plus it's disc bound so you can take pages out and add things (I've currently got my eye on the home extension pack for budgeting, cleaning, etc.). If you're wondering why mine has weird marks on it, that is due to a recent leak situation in my flat... but that's a story for another day.

The Capsule Wardrobe Experiment

Minimalism has become quite a big theme in the blogging world and recently I've been trying to reduce the amount of stuff I own. While I've had quite a lot of success using the KonMari method (read about it here), the one area where I always struggle is my wardrobe. I have a lot of clothes but nothing to wear. So today I decided on a whim to see if I could do the whole 'capsule wardrobe' thing.

A look into my Project Life Photo Album

After my recent post about what you need to start a Project Life album (read it here), I thought I'd share some of my favourite pages from my own album. I'm about eight months behind on my album (oops), but I've recently gotten all my new photos printed so I will be catching up soon... So most of these pages are about a year old, but I still love them. I don't really do any journaling in my project life books because I prefer to just fill them with pictures, and I just add journalling cards when I have empty spaces.

Looking sunkissed with Sunkissed

As I write this post I am sitting on my sofa wrapped up in a blanket, looking out at the rain- the British summer certainly leaves a lot to be desired! Thankfully there are ways to look like you've just been on holiday for a week even if you actually haven't seen the sun in god knows how long!

Apartment Details- My Gallery Wall

I'm finally pretty much done with decorating my flat (althoug I don't think I'll ever be completely done), so I thought I could start a new series called Apartment Details, showing you my favourite bits of my flat! I will do a complete flat tour video at some point, but I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet!

Taking care of your jewellery

I love jewellery but there are only two pieces that I wear every day- my Michael Kors watch and this ring my grandma gave to me for my college graduation when I was 17. I wear this ring every time I leave the house, so in the last few years it has gotten quite dirty! I didn't really realise this until my mum pointed it out last time she visited, so I thought I should probably go get it cleaned.

The Brow Repurchase

As a blogger, I love trying out new products so I rarely ever repurchase anything. I actually don't run out of products often either, because I have quite a large collection so I use a lot of different things. So when I not only use up a product but also repurchase it, that definitely means that said item has reached holy grail status!

The Job Interview Primark Haul

This week I have my first interview for a 'proper' job. This meant I had to get together a professional looking outfit, and I was missing some bits so I took a little trip to Primark. I think it's perfectly fine to wear some cheap pieces and as long as you mix them in with some bits that are better quality, no one will know. I already had a grey blazer and a burgundy skirt, so I just had to buy some small bits like a shirt.

My MAC Lipsticks

MAC lipsticks have a cult status in the beauty world, mainly because of the large range of colours and finishes available. I've been slowly growing my MAC lipstick collection over the past year, because they are not the cheapest (but at £15.50 also not the most expensive by far) lipsticks. I do tend to gravitate towards the more unusual colours when it comes to MAC, because that's what I feel makes them worth the money, so I wanted to share my small collection today.

Hello Sailor

I'm currently trying to build a slightly more mature wardrobe and deviate from my usual ripped jeans, tshirt and broken books look, so I've picked up some new things lately that I wanted to feature in a post! I love fashion but am still lacking a boyfriend/photography slave, so the lovely Jordan from Hello Miss Jordan (who does stunning fashion posts by the way, check her out!) took some photos for me!

The Lifechanging Magic of Tidying

If you watch Essiebutton's videos, you will have probably heard of 'The Lifechanging Magic Of Tidying', a book written by a professional organiser (yes, that's a thing) from Japan. Since I've been desperately trying to declutter and become more organised, I obviously picked this up straight away.

How to create an inspiration board

I think that an inspiration board is something everyone should have. They're aestetically pleasing, easy to change and just provide that extra push sometimes. Mine hangs above my desk so when I look up from my work, it's the first thing I see. Obviously you can put whatever you want on your inspiration board and it will be different for everyone, but here's what I put on mine.

The Breakfast Club Brighton

Since the Breakfast Club opened in Brighton, it's all I've been hearing about. Being a huge fan of breakfast foods myself, I decided to take my sister there while she was visiting from Germany. So last Thursday, we headed down to the lanes to meet Lauren for brunch.

The Backless Playsuit

I love playsuits- they're comfortable but they look dressed up and most importantly, they don't fly up in the Brighton wind like dresses do. I recently got this new one from asos and I just love that it's backless! The top half is very 90s with the halterneck and the open back and everyone knows that I'm a fan of backless clothing!

Wearing Ede & Ravenscroft

So last Friday morning I did a thing... I graduated. No biggie! I got up at 6am and slathered ridiculous amounts of makeup on my face to make myself look acceptable for photos and then walked down to the Brighton Dome for my five seconds of fame.

Blogging Equipment Wishlist

No matter how many blogging related things I have, I always want more. Especially now that I'm blogging more seriously I think that I need to upgrade my equipment a little and invest in some pieces that will help me improve my blog!

Project Life Starter Kit

As you probably know, I love scrapbooking. It just makes me really happy to have all my memories in one place and I quite regularly sit and flick through the pages of my scrapbooks. While I make proper creative scrapbooks for things like holidays, I also like to keep a Project Life book of just my everyday life where I document little things like concerts, small trips, etc. I find most posts on Project Life quite overwhelming because there's a lot of people out there who take it very seriously and do it really creatively with embellishments and lots of journaling, but I personally like it because of the simplicity of it. When I first started out I didn't really know what to get, so I thought I'd do a little post on things that I would recommend you get if you're starting out with Project Life.

My planning essentials

It's another planner post! I'm just absolutely in love with my filofax and the whole planner community (yes, that's a thing), because I have become so much more organised and motivated since having a planner. A lot of people will probably look at my planner and say 'Why on earth do you need to decorate it so much can't you just write things down' but I find that decorating it and making it look pretty really makes me want to use it more. So today I thought I'd share my planning essentials with you!

Body Confidence- Accepting things you can't change

I think body confidence is something we all struggle with- whether you're a size 6 or a size 16, we all have things that we'd like to change about our bodies. Sometimes this can be a positive thing, because it can encourage you to lead a healthier lifestyle, but it can also have a negative impact on your confidence and feelings of self worth, especially when there are things you can't change.

IKEA Haul // Video

When I was in Germany for her graduation, my sister and I went on a cheeky little IKEA trip because she wanted to get some things for her new flat and I'm always up for buying homeware! I also introduced her to meatballs, because she had never had them in her life!
This video also contains some interesting language issues, as well as a debate about the difference between a cushion and a pillow- I hope you enjoy!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Review and waterproof test

After using up the last of my They're Real samples which I've been using for the past year, I finally bit the bullet and bought a new mascara. Since my beloved L'Oreal Telescopic Waterproof has been discontinued, I turned to Maybelline. The mascara that caught my eye was the Lash Sensational, as I remembered hearing good things about it (something about it being a dupe for the Benefit Roller Lash I think?). Now I'm not a fan of the Roller Lash because it doesn't hold a curl on me at all, but I thought I would give the waterproof version of the Maybelline a go- and while I was at it, I tested how waterproof it really is!

My favourite summer nail polish

It's no secret that I'm not usually one for colour. The only exception to that rule is normally my nail polish- I do love a nice bright colour every now and then! Blue is my favourite colour and I think bright blue nail polish looks so pretty, but also kind of edgy (I'm not sure why, maybe because I saw it on Claire Marshall once).

Mini Paperchase Haul

The other day I popped into Paperchase to pick up some things for my planner, so I thought I'd do a little haul! I am still very much in love with my Filofax and I wanted to get some more sticky notes, because I use them a lot for preplanning and to do lists.

The long lasting nude lip

Nowadays everyone appears to be obsessed with the perfect nude lip (often inspired by Kylie Jenner), and I am no exception! I never used to buy nude lipsticks because I didn't really see the point in wearing a lipstick that is the same colour as my lips- how wrong I was!

Keeping up with the Cleves

Yesterday my (not so little) sister graduated from school, so I went home to Germany to attend the ceremony. I'm so proud of her because it hasn't been an easy journey but she ended up getting an incredible result which will (hopefully) allow her to study History at one of the best universities in Germany next year. It was obviously an excuse to dress up so I thought I'd share our outfits with you!

Oh, Hello Stationery Haul

There comes a time in every planner addict's life when you decide that you need stickers. For me, that was sooner rather than later, so shortly after I got my filofax I made my first order. I decided to go for Oh Hello Stationery on etsy because they have really cute designs and I actually follow the owner's blog, Microscope Beauty, which made me want to buy from her even more! I also got 15% off with Elle Fowler's code 'iheartyoucoffee', which was just the icing on the cake really.

Painting Pottery Cafe Brighton

The other day I went to the Painting Pottery Cafe in Brighton to paint some pottery with my Psychology girls. It's a really great place where you pay £5 for paints, etc and then buy the thing you're painting (my mug was £16). They have lots of different plates, teapots, mugs, etc. to paint, so there's lots to choose from!

Lucky Beach Bar, Brighton

Brighton really is incredible in the summer, the seafront especially becomes incredibly lively and there's bars everywhere. On Thursday, I decided to meet up with some friends for a beach day and we went to Lucky Beach, which is a lovely little bar right on the seafront.

The Weekly Favourite #2

This week, my favourite is a bag! I am usually a one bag kinda girl and I'm still absolutely in love with my Alexander Wang Rocco, but for this summer I wanted something more relaxed (and not as heavy). I've always loved fringe and it's a huge trend right now, so I dug this old fringe bag from Eddie Bauer out of my wardrobe.

Organising tips for unorganised people

I admit, I'm not an organised person. I'm quite the opposite actually, as anyone who has ever lived with me will be able to tell you. I love perfectly clean and organised spaces, I just really struggle to maintain them. Since moving into my new flat I've really been making an effort to be less messy and I've come up with some tips for unorganised people like me, hopefully they will help those of you who also struggle with the messy gene.

Quick lazy summer makeup

It's been a while since I've properly talked about makeup on the blog, probably because I haven't really been wearing it as much. As the weather gets warmer I tend to get lazy with my makeup because it just melts off and you know what, I don't need to wear makeup every time I leave the house.

Weekly Favourite #1

I'm starting a new series showcasing a weekly favourite every Sunday because I feel like things easily get lost with monthly favourites. This favourite can be anything from makeup to food or a TV show!

My Graduation Ball Outfit

On Monday night, me and my friends got all dressed up and headed down to The Grand Hoten for our graduation ball, which turned out to be more of a fancy and very expensive club night. Nevertheless, we managed to get some lovely shots on the seafront before we left, so I thought I'd share my outfit with you.

How I make affordable flower arrangements at home

Having fresh flowers in your home makes such a massive difference to the way a room feels, so I've been trying to have a bouquet of flowers on a coffee table at all times. Buying flowers, especially pre arranged bouquets, can get really expensive if you do it regularly, so I've started buying flowers from the supermarket and making my own arrangements, so I thought I'd share the process with you.

Why I got a Filofax

I'm trying to use this summer to really get myself organised and get into habits that will keep me organised once I start uni again. I've been using a Moleskine diary for two years now and I love the layout and size of it, but there were a few thing that were missing from it for me. I decided to get a new planner after watching tons of YouTube videos on planning (did you know there was a planning community? I did not!), and I chose to go with a Filofax personal for a few reasons.

Bohemian Style Asos Wishlist

I've recently fallen in love with clothes again, and my asos wishlist has been getting longer and longer. I'm really into bohemian style, especially during the summer, although I'm not a huge fan of the really forced ethnic prints, crochet tops and bindhis all over the place- I will leave those to the festival goers.
I love crochet, ruffles and fringe, so I put together a little wishlist of bohemian style items from asos.

Simple tricks for a healthier lifestyle

I always envy those people who can eat completely clean and seem to effortlessly eat their five (or ten) a day. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people so I need some little tricks to keep my eating habits in check. They've been working for me pretty well recently, so I thought I'd share!

My Candle Club Subscription Box Review

I love subscription boxes as a way to discover new products and get some great deals on samples, but I've recently cancelled my Birchbox subscription because I just had too many samples I was never going to use lying around and I thought I could put the £12.95 a month to better use!
It's no secret that I'm obsessed with candles so when I found out that there is a CANDLE SUBSCRIPTION BOX (!!!) I got extremely excited and ordered it straight away.

Favourite Travel Scrapbook Pages

A few months ago before the whole dissertation craziness began, I was really into scrapbooking. I have always been an extremely visual person and I love having photos everywhere. When I was travelling through Thailand and India, I collected literally everything, from receipts to sweets wrappers, to put into a scrapbook. Two years later, it was still all in the top pocket of my backpack because I just never got around to it! But then I finally got my act together, bought a beautiful leather bound scrapbook (that was made in India, funnily enough) and started scrapbooking, so I wanted to share some of my favourite pages with you today! It's still a work in progress but hopefully I will get the entire thing done this summer.

Black Bohemian

I recently rediscovered this top, which I bought for Halloween last year, and I am absolutely in love with it! I'm really into the bohemian look during the summer and this seems very bohemian while still incorporating my favourite non-colour. I think the cut is extremely flattering but I wore a black tanktop underneath it becuase it is a crop top and I didn't want my stomach out quite yet. I also tied a red and black flannel around my waist to 1. hide my stomach and 2. have something to wear in case I got cold.

A little drugstore complexion haul

I have been quite well behaved when it comes to makeup shopping recently, as I've been mainly buying homeware. Unfortunately, the other day I ran out of both foundation and concealer (it was a very stressful morning), so a trip to Boots was in order.

That time I got a desk...

I am slightly ashamed to admit that for the past three years (so my entire time at university), I have not had a desk. My rooms have all had desks in them but I used them as a place to store my makeup because you know, priorities. Since I've been at university my bed has been the centre of my life and I do everything there, from writing essays to eating. This is definitely one of the reasons why my room is always such a mess, especially around my bed, so when I got my new flat I decided it was time to change and finally get a desk.

Jojo's Gelato Brighton (Hove, actually)

A few days ago some of my friends finished their exams so we decided to celebrate by getting ice cream... like adults do. Rachel had the idea to go to Jojo's Gelato, as none of us had ever been before and it most certainly did not disappoint! The store itself is very spacious but cute with 50s inspired decor and big booths you can sit in. You can actually go taste the ice cream flavours before you order, which I thought was a great idea. There are the usual flavours as well as some crazier ones like apple pie and Coca Cola... The waiter kindly informed us about the flavours that weren't very good (like Parmesan... who even came up with that??), which I thought was nice because it kept us from making bad decisions.
