When Life Happens...

The great thing about blogs is that they're written by real people you can relate to. However, with real people come real lives, and sometimes those lives just get in the way. I love blogging, it's been a bit up and down for me but recently I've really found my 'style' if you will, and I've been producing a lot more content that I genuinely love. But right now there's a lot going on in my life, there's a lot of decisions I have to make and to be honest I struggle to even get out of bed in the mornings because I'm pretty overwhelmed with everything.
I have a dissertation to write, while planning lots of events for my society as well as somehow deciding what the hell I'm going to do with my life next year. I had it all planned out but now I'm not so sure anymore and I just have to take some time to get my life in order. While I'm going to try to still post on here, it may not be as regular as usual so please bear with me while I figure things out. If you're still interested in hearing my ramblings about life, follow me on my twitter (@livinglifeindoc), because nothing will ever tear me away from tweeting about random things in life.

A Sunday Tea Party

Yesterday my friend Bryndis hosted a tea party, for no particular reason other than she wanted to bake and needed people to eat- obviously I was happy to oblige! It was a really relaxed afternoon of eating the best brownies I have ever had (pictured above- they were vegan! Edit: the ones with the marshallows on top weren't vegan, there was a second batch that was but they were all eaten before I got there), drinking tea and eventually playing a board game! I cannot remember the last time I played a board game but it was so fun and we have already organised a board game evening for next week now! We played The Settlers of Catan, which is a strategic game and quickly got very competitive but still extremely fun. And if you love my mug as much as I do, you can get it here(it's on sale)!

Apartment Dreaming- The Entryway

Welcome back to apartment dreaming, where I share my dreams about how my first own apartment will look like, supported by carefully selected Pinterest pictures! Today we will talk about the entryway, which I have to admit excites me to no end! Living in a student house there is no such thing as an entryway- we have a door which used to have some hooks on the wall next to it until they came down and took a large chunk of the wall with them... that's student housing for you! I love the idea of having that little bit of space that's the first thing you see when you walk in, which really sets the tone for the rest of the apartment, so here's how I'm thinking of styling it.

Sexy Pole for Valentine's Day

You all know that I love pole fitness and it has basically taken over my life- I train at my university to we have to be very much fitness focused, as they don't like us to be sexy at all. However, the pole studio I occasionally go to in town has a 'sexy pole' class every year around Valentine's Day and this year I finally got to go!

Put A Ring On It- A Wishlist

Don't worry guys, I'm not getting married to my secret boyfriend... just looking for a new ring. It's my 21st birthday in April so I'm starting to come up with a wish list (my family is big on those), and one of the things I really want is a ring. I'm really used to wearing a ring on my right hand, to the point where I feel strange when I leave the house without it, but the one I'm wearing was given to me by my ex boyfriend for Valentine's Day two years ago so I think it may be time to move on... What better way to replace it than with something I got for my 21st birthday? Mum, I know you're reading this, so take note...

20 Facts about me

You Can't Play On Broken Strings

As promised, I'm doing more outfit posts now, thanks to my lovely best friend/housemate/photographer Lauren! We went and braved the cold to get a few shots of my completely weather inappropriate outfit, because this jumper is too pretty to not share!

Fernweh is one of those fancy German words that don't really have a a direct translation in English- it means 'longing for far off places' or quite literally 'farsickness' as opposed to 'homesickness'. I guess it is sort of like wanderlust, but that's also a word you English people stole from German, you sneaky bastards you.

The Alexander Wang Rocco Duffel and me- a love story

I am a firm believer in buying highstreet clothes and make-up because more often than not with high end brands, you're just paying for the name. However I think that bags are something where you really do get what you pay for- although obviously some are extortionate and frankly not worth the money, you just have to use common sense on that one.

What's in my bag - Video

I have a new bag! There will be a whole post on this soon (you will never hear the end of it!), but I thought I'd film a little what's in my bag video because everyone loves to be nosy! I hope you enjoy!
