Living alone- expectations and fears

If you follow me on twitter, you will have probably seen my excited tweets about the fact that I recently signed for my own proper grown-up flat! It's pretty exciting and I was really lucky to find a lovely place in an amazing location and I can't wait to move in! For the past three years I have shared a house/flat with friends/randomers and before that I lived with my family and went to boarding school, so I have never lived by myself before. While I am super excited, I thought I'd share some of my fears with you too, because let's face it it's a bit scary living for yourself for the first time!

Bringing back the 90s

I admit it- I've been watching far too much Friends. I've always loved 90s fashion and recently when I purchased this little floral slip dress from H&M I thought it would look great 'Rachel style' with a tshirt underneath. I have to admit it's a bit out of my comfort zone because it's not my regular jeans and tshirt combo, but I think it actually makes a simple floral dress look more edgy and less girly! I even found one of those old tattoo necklaces while I was going through my old stuff at home, so I thought I'd add it for an extra 90/00s vibe... I know their trendy again now but they just always remind me of my childhood.

New leather

It's no secret that I love leather jackets. I have quite a large collection (they're all different, I swear!) but I tend to have one that I wear every day. Up until two weeks ago that was my studded leather jacket, but the lining ripped completely after wearing it almost daily for about three years and I felt like it was time for a change.

A Sunny Day in Mainhattan

A few days ago, my mum, my sister and I decided to go to the Monet exhibit at the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt. It was a sunny day so we parked quite far away and went on a little stroll along the river. Some people call Frankfurt Mainhattan because it's right next to the river Main and has a skyline like Manhattan- it's genius and I've always loved that name. I couldn't believe how nice and warm it was and I quickly took off my jacket and in true English fashion I got a bit sunburnt. Unfortunately I had left my camera in England so all these photos were taken with my iPhone, which explains the bad quality, but I wanted to share them anyway!
