A Sunny Day in Mainhattan

A few days ago, my mum, my sister and I decided to go to the Monet exhibit at the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt. It was a sunny day so we parked quite far away and went on a little stroll along the river. Some people call Frankfurt Mainhattan because it's right next to the river Main and has a skyline like Manhattan- it's genius and I've always loved that name. I couldn't believe how nice and warm it was and I quickly took off my jacket and in true English fashion I got a bit sunburnt. Unfortunately I had left my camera in England so all these photos were taken with my iPhone, which explains the bad quality, but I wanted to share them anyway!

We sat in the museum cafe for a bit and I had this amazing iced coffee, which you may have already seen if you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, you should- my name is @livinglifeindocs). It wasn't one of those iced coffees that you get at Starbucks which are 60% ice and a little bit of coffee- this was the mother of all iced coffees. It's coffee (duh), with a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream. I am definitely planning on recreating that at home!

You weren't meant to take photos in the actual exhibit but of course I got a sneaky one. There were lots of paintings not only by Monet but also other impressionists like Degas (who is one of my favourite artists of all times) and it was amazing to see all these priceless works of art.

Here's a little sneak peak of my (not so little) sister's outfit! You can tell that our styles are not at all alike...

... and here you can see me in my usual jeans, tshirt and leather jacket uniform. My jeans and my top are from H&M, my leather jacket is from Zara and my bag is the Alexander Wang Rocco Duffel.

We also realised that no bridge is safe from romantic couples who put a lock on it. Why they would choose Frankfurt for this I do not know, but I guess not everyone loves Paris as much as I do. Frankfurt- the new city of love? Doesn't quite have the same ring to it...
