My Happy Planner

Oh planners... I used to laugh at people decorating their planners because it just seemed so silly, but then I got a filofax and recently I changed over to a Happy Planner, because I wanted more space to track different things. The Happy Planner is very similar to the popular Erin Condren Life Planner, but it's a lot cheaper, plus it's disc bound so you can take pages out and add things (I've currently got my eye on the home extension pack for budgeting, cleaning, etc.). If you're wondering why mine has weird marks on it, that is due to a recent leak situation in my flat... but that's a story for another day.

In the picture above you can see what the weekly view looks like before you add anything... It would be a great planner even if you just used it like this. It's divided into morning, afternoon and evening sections so if you want you can plan using those. The Erin Condren planner had the same system (although it was morning/day/night), but because everyone covers them up anyway they've now just put empty boxes. I personally divide my day into three sections:

This is where I put any appointments, my work schedule, etc.

Little Things
Here I have little stickers that track random things like whether I'm eating my five-a-day, hydration, how much sleep I'm getting, blog posts, how much I'm spending and if there are any TV shows on that I want to watch. I switch this up quite frequently depending on what works for me and what doesn't. I'm still new to planning so I'm still experimenting quite a lot!

To Do
This one is pretty self explanatory.. I just write down my to do's for the day. Sometimes I won't have space for all of them so I'll use the next day as well, or I'll do something I wrote down on Tuesday on Thursday but it doesn't bother me too much.

Next we have the monthly view. I don't decorate this too much but I do mark things like payday, birthdays and other big events, just so I can see everything in the month at a glance. There's also a notes section ont he left which I use to write down blog post ideas.

This cool little page is at the beginning of every month and you can write down birthdays, goals, etc. I quite like it because it's a way of getting ready for the month and I love the goals section. I personally don't really use the birthday section much because I don't have millions of friends who's birthdays I have to track, but I love all the rest.

Finally let's talk about the obvious- stickers! I love stickers and I use them a lot because they just make it very visual and I like how they make planning more fun. All my functional stickers like backgrounds, headers etc are homemade, so I just create them in Word and print them on label paper. I do this to save money and also because that way they're exactly what I need. My decorative stickers are from etsy stores, because apparently sticker making has turned into a huge business! Some of my favourites are Oh Hello Stationery, Stickel Co and Michelle and Patch
My current cover is actually just the cover of the Happy Planner turned around, but I've ordered a new cover with my name on it which looks beautiful, so I'm sure you will see it on Instagram when it arrives!

This turned into a very long post so I apologise to those of you who aren't obsessed with planners! But those of you who are, leave me a comment telling me what your favourite sticker shop is!
